Performance and Macs
Associating things with what they are good at is a common phenomenon, and we have been doing these to all like — “Love and Dogs, Friendship and Dogs, Companionship and Dogs, Faithfulness and Dogs, Cuteness and Dogs, being adorable and Dogs, Annoying and Babies” you get the idea right?
I’m going to write about one such thing which is already much understood, but still a lot controversial, “Performance and Mac”. With specs like 8gb DDR3 RAM, an i5 Processor and a storage ranging from 256 GB -> 1 TB, One might say that these are somewhat above average specs and not worth to pay almost the price of a decent bike but that’s where everything goes wrong, we confuse ourselves with specs and quality.
For instance, Toyota Fortuner comes with a powerful 2755cc engine, whereas the BMW X3 comes with 1995cc engine but duh… it’s a BMW.
So to begin with, the MacBook comes with two variants-
1. MacBook Air
2. MacBook Pro
I’m not going to bore you with all the technical specs, but rather I will tell you what makes Macs stand out.
I personally have been using MacBook Pro 13" (2020) variant for almost a month now and trust me the experience is just different. It hasn’t lagged even when I used some of the most scandalous software known for draining the s**t out of the CPU.
It’s totally wrong to judge anyone by their appearance but sadly all the non-living entities are subjected to such pressure from society and no one talks about it “sad emoji” and since I’m part of such society I’m going to do the same. The sleek look of Macs would bring drools to many. The work on the Mac is done so well that it would constantly pressurize to clean it every day, and its light weight ensure easy portability.
It’s always a difficult experience to switch OS, and unfamiliarity with macOS is taken as uninviting confrontation. People complain that they don’t find compatible pieces of software, but that’s just one of those crazy WhatsApp forwards.
Macs come with preloaded free software like pages, keynote and numbers which are great alternatives of MS Office, and honestly they are somewhat better when it comes to templates and user interface.
macOS has a substantial security feature, there are rarely any cases associated with Macs being victims of any Ransomware attacks.
Spotlight search works like a magic enabling you to directly jump onto the file or look up for a word in dictionary or even to do some calculations. The virtual assistant “Siri” is far better than “Cortana” present in the Windows machines.
The top speed for cooling fans is about 7500 rpm, and it does its job pretty well, when the Mac starts to heat up you can actually hear those blades cruising.
With the newly improved “Magic Keyboard”, it’s a cherry on top. The keyboard has got smooth typing experience and has retained the classic keystroke sound which every programmer like me would love.
